The Sikkim Himalayas, Sikkim is situated in the lap of the
eastern Himalayas below Mt.Khangchendzonga (8598m.3rd
highest Mountain in the world) to the north of Sikkim lies
the vast area of the great Tibetan plateau, to the west
the kingdom of Nepal, to the east the kingdom of Bhutan
and the Chumbi Valley of Tibet, while the neighboring
State of West Bengal stretches along its southern
boundary. Sikkim is the 22nd State of India. A
naturalist's paradise, Sikkim is noted for its flora and
fauna with over 4000 varieties of flowering plants and
shrubs. Lepchas, Bhutias, and Nepalese who make up the
major population of Sikkim are, by nature, simple, polite
and docile, people with a natural gaiety, their culture
and customs are as fascinating as the surroundings in

Lepcha tribes. Trekking in the North Sikkim will assure

Day
01: Bagdogra-Gangtok: Leave for Gangtok about
124 km or approx 4 hrs drive. This is a scenic
and winding drive, takes you along the River
Teesta which leads to “Gangtok” the
capital of Sikkim.
While
half way you arrive at a place called Rangpo,
this is the entry point to Sikkim. You will
have to fulfill the entry formalities against
your special permit to tour around
Sikkim,While we fulfill the formalities you
refresh yourself with Tea and Snacks, then
continue the drive to Gangtok.
Arrive
Gangtok by evening check-in to hotel.

Day
02: Gangtok Sight Seeing. (While we process
the final documentation.)
After
breakfast visit to the World famous Rumtek Dharma Chakra Centers Monastery, situated 24kms from
Gangtok. This is the headquarter of the
present seat of His Holiness, the Gyalwa
Karmapa, head of the Kagyud Sect. This
Monastery is said to be replica of the
monastery at Tsurphu, Tibet with its
traditional architecture, exquisite paintings,
intricate wood work, housing treasures of
manuscripts and icons. Rumtek is a splendid
example of Tibetan monastic art.
ON
the way back visit Do-Drul Chorten Stupa:
An awe inspiring stupa, encircled by prayer
wheels which you may spin while walking
around, clockwise only, to offer the prayer
“ Om Mane Padme Hum Re”. Nearby, simple
housed are two giant statues of the Lord
Buddha and Guru Padmasambhava.
Tibetology:
A unique institution devoted to Tibet logy the
only of its kind in the world where is
displayed perhaps the largest collection to
Tibetan artifacts outside Tibet.After lunch
visit Govt. Institute of Handicrafts
Cottage Industries: this place you can buy
local handicrafts such as carpets,
woodcarvings or nick-knacks. You may also see
the artisans at work.Flower Show at White
Hall: Specimens of Sikkim’s famous Orchids
and other flora.Overnight at hotel.

Day
03 : Gangtok to Lachung North
Sikkim (2400m) 125km 5-6 hours drive.
After
breakfast drive to Lachung at an altitude of
8,600 ft. on the way stop and enjoy some
beautiful and historical places like Tashi
viewpoint, Kabi -Lungstok, Naga waterfalls,
the confluence of Lachen Chu and Lachung Chu
at Chungthang, Twin Waterfalls and Bhim Nala
Waterfalls.
Lunch
will be served at Namok. You are likely to
reach Lachung at late afternoon/in the evening
andCheck in our hotel, SNOWLION MOUNTAIN
RESORT, surrounded by Hills, pristine beauty
and Lachung Chu. |

Day
04 : Lachung to Yumthang (3600m) 24km 5-6
hours walk.After breakfast start the trek
towards Yumthang. Most of the walk is on
motorable road, but this is one of the most
beautiful walk in Sikkim, with panoramic view
of the surrounding mountains. In the month of
April-May its a spectacular walk through
forest of Rhododendron in full bloom and of
course the meadows of Primulas. Hot Lunch at
Phuni. Over night in Tent at Yumthang.

Day
05 : Yumthang to Tsethang (3800m) 4 hours
walk. The trail towards Tsethang climbs
gently in the beginning and there is a steep
climb for about 2-3 hours, and when on top you
get an amazing view of Langkyong Khang and the
Dongkyari. In the afternoon free to go on
excursions to the nearby hills. Overnight in
tent.

Day
06: Tsethang to Snowlion Cave Camp (3000m) 4
Hours walk. Today you will be walking
through one of the most beautiful
Rhododendron Forest. This is a real paradise
for the Rhododendron lovers. When on top of
Lhaba-Pass (4200m) you will get the grandest
view of the mountains and glaciers in the
area. Hot Lunch on the way and Overnight in
tent.

Day
07 : Snowlion Cave Camp to Tarum Hot Spring
(2600m) 4 hours walk. The trail from
Snowlion Cave Camp to Tarum Hot Spring is
mostly down hill and one passes through thick
forest of silver Fir , Magnolia and Bamboo.
The Camp will be at the hot spring, which is
is one of the most famous in Sikkim. A dip in
the hot spring will relax your tired muscles
after the trek. Hot Lunch on the way. Over
night in Tent.

Day
08 : Tarum Hot Spring to Road Head. (2-3 hours
walk). The trail towards the road is
mainly down hill. At the road head the jeep
will be waiting to pick you up for your onward
journey either to Gangtok. Lunch enroute.
Visit Phodong Monastery if not visited
earlier. Check in Hotel at Gangtok. |

09: Gangtok- Bagdogra:After Breakfast
Leave for Bagdogra, about 124 km or approx 4
hrs drive. FAREWELL.
